Home

My bed never felt so good.  :)
Turns out, Kinney's doesn't have any hours to give me over this short break.
So?

I get to take 2 weeks and relax!  No work, no commitments, etc.  It's going to be wonderful.  :)  What will suck though, is no money.  Christmas presents from me are going to be pathetic, so be prepared.  Haha!

I'm going to try to read through as many of the 6 books I've still got saved from this summer that I have yet to read, as well as work on my Netflix queue.  I feel bad that Ryan probably won't be able to catch up with me because I've got so much free time, but hopefully he'll be able to fit in the majority of the things I've watched over break, and maybe even next semester.

This break in my life feels like it was planned.  This is a time for me to figure out everything.  A time for new beginnings.  To take the next few steps toward my big goals in life.  To start fresh.  To do things right.  Metaphor: this is a cocoon from within which I will begin my transformation from silly undergrad-college-student-caterpillar, to full-blown butterfly adult.  Whoa.

Get ready.  Because my life is going to be awesome.
Also, I realize that this post only had about 3 sentences to do with being home.  Bear with me.  :)

"Gentle Mornings"

Today's post is to explain to you how excited I am to have what I like to call
"Gentle Mornings"
every day over my Thanksgiving Break.  Here's a Wordle bundle of words for some adjectives (because I'm not as good at thinking of them on my own like Ashley is:

I apologize that it is so hard to read, but Wordle makes it difficult to save the image of what you've created after it's done.  :)
To explain further, Gentle Mornings are those mornings when you wake up in a nice warm bed, there are no noises throughout the house, the sun is beating in through the window on your comforter, and you wake up feeling refreshed and ready to take on the world.  Following getting out of bed at your own pace, you walk along the hardwood floor hallway out into the kitchen where you look through the full-length sliding glass door at the bright blue sky and the seagulls playing in the wind currents.  You find a nice, rotund bowl of fruit sitting on an island in your kitchen, you sit on one of the bar stools at the island, and take your time savoring the taste and texture of honeydew, cantaloupe, oranges, clementines, watermelon, apples, pineapple, bananas, and pears-a serious indulgence of the 5 senses.  Then when you find yourself full, you walk back along that hardwood floor hallway and slip in the shower.  Once clean, you are ready for your day.

See?  Doesn't that sound nice?

These kinds of mornings I don't get too often, so when I do, I hold onto them and remember them.
Gentle Mornings do NOT include the following: cell phones, alarms, yelling, stress, frustration, junky foods, uncomfortable temperatures, rough fabrics, time limits, restrictions, crying (unless it's due to joy,) television, radio stations (unless there is soft/soothing music playing,) or any other person who exhibits or participates in anything listed above that morning.
Gentle Mornings are all about you, and getting your mind in the right place to do what you need to do for the day.  Kind of like yoga...but not so dangerous.  :)

Back To B-Town; Staying the Same

Helloooo everyone!

So much has changed since the last time I posted.  Whoa.  Well, to start, I'm back in Burlington, I've managed to stay the same weight-wise from last week after going over by 31 points on Weight Watchers (no idea how I managed that,) and I'm also currently single.

Life feels good right now.  I'm in my own little happy place, I'm back with my "other" family, and my dorm is still here.  I missed it soooooooo much so it feels fabulous to get my bed back and to be back in my own suite.  Ahhhh....what fun!

Another little awesome tidbit for this year is that Ryan and I are sharing our dorms 50/50.  I've got half my clothes up in his single, and he has some of his clothes down hanging in my closet.  It's going to be lovely.  :D  I can't wait for this year to get rolling.  It's going to be wonderful.  I can't believe I start my whole new schedule tomorrow and have to start getting back into the swing of things.  Everything is slowly falling back into place, and it's really quite wonderful.  <3

I failed last week on reporting my measurements, but I intend to fix that and keep up with it.  Unless maybe it's better for me to record once a month?  Because I've spent the whole day moving in and around Burlington, I'm a little tired to go get up and measure all body parts right now.  If I find some free time tomorrow I will do my best to get on that for you all.  Thank you for bearing with me and being patient.

For now, I'm signing off.  It's been a very long day and I need some beauty sleep for tomorrow.

Much love!
-Megan

Home

The past 24 hours have sucked.

I left Burlington to come home for the summer.  I am separated from my twin, my best college friends are still in Burlington or heading for Cape, and I'M SO ALONE!!!! :(

Granted, it's really nice to be home to see my family.  But I am really going to miss all the people my age walking the streets at all hours of the day and night.  (Except for probably 6am-8am.)

Currently I am sitting on my bed in my room after having showered, and I am waiting for someone to get online.  This is how much of a life I have.  Sleeping in my own bed is going to be magical, but Ryan isn't here to cuddle with.  FMLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!

<3

I will miss you all dearly.  I hope you have a fabulous summer, stay safe, and be good to each other.

I'll keep you posted whenever something exciting happens here in L-ville!

Love always,
Megan

P.S. Completely Unrelated- last night while on our last trip to Champ Farms until August, I slipped and fell in the mud in my pjs.  It felt worse than it looked....and it looked horrible.  Fortunately-the fall was really graceful and I didn't injur anything.  Just my ego. :)

Still Not Sleeping

Afternoon, blogosphere!

This post is more dedicated to getting responses from you all.  I'm looking for suggestions, thoughts, comments, and/or support about my issue.  If you have anything, leave a comment!

The past two weeks I haven't been sleeping well.  I've either been tossing and turning, simply unable to fall asleep, or waking up fighting/talking in my sleep.  Most of this is due to anxt from holding down 3 jobs and 5 classes, but its starting to become a problem for me.  I can get my body relaxed, but my mind unfortunately is full-speed-ahead 24/7 and I feel like this might be part of the issue.  I've tried just sitting and meditating for a while and clearing my mind, but the Neverending To-Do List creeps back in eventually.  (The other part of my problem is that I don't have that much time to just sit and let everything go.)

I'm almost to the point where I'm going to start taking sleep aids at night before my body crashes, but I would rather start with natural methods first.  If you have anything that may help, I will gladly accept it.

Thank you for your dedication!

Love,
Megan

P.S.  I have been eating right in order to keep up my strength/energy and have even tried exercising more during my day.  Those aren't working either...

Motivation...Or Lack Thereof

Good Mornin' Blogosphere!

Or, afternoon really, seeing as how it's 12:12 here.  How are all of you wonderful people this fine afternoon?  Oh, how am I you ask?  Well.........I am SICK! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!  Yes, unfortunately, I have had a random 4-5 day cold that just HAPPENED to come down on me around the same time as my birthday..which was Sunday for those of you who didn't know.

So, unfortunately I do not have my PictBridge cable here to transfer pictures taken from my birthday weekend onto this fabulous blog post, so you'll have to pretend we're on a Disney Safari.  I'll be your tour guide.  You may not be able to see everything, but you can imagine it in your mind's eye.  Ready? Here we go...

Ryan and I woke up at 8am on Saturday morning to get ready for the day.  The night before, my mom and gram and I had all spoken, and said that we would be leaving at 9am.  Cool!  After hanging up, I spent the rest of the evening with 308 (Ashley, Velvet, and Ryan,) and had a few epic good times.  Of course, Ashley and Ryan locked themselves in our bedroom to finish the surprise for our hotel room the following night so I didn't really see much of them, but Velvet and I had a good time for a little while anyway.

After waking up at 8 and starting to get ready.  I looked at my phone sitting on my desk and realized that I had 4 new voice messages.  FOUR.  WHAT IS THIS?!  I called my voice mail, and after listening to the annoying Verizon woman speak for 30 seconds I finally got to the first one.  "Hey Megan, it's Mom.  So, we had a change of plans (again...*sigh*) and so we're going to be there at 7am to pick you and Ryan up.  We're going to try to catch a noon showing of Avatar on the way down to Mass, so make sure you're ready, ok? Bye!" Crap.  So, the last hour we'd been sleeping, they've been sitting out in the parking lot waiting for us.  CRAP!

Meanwhile, Ryan is blow drying his hair in the bathroom.  *Knock Knock Knock*
"Yeah?"
"Hey, so....my mom and gram have been sitting in the parking lot for about an hour waiting for us to get going.  They called me last night and apparently changed plans so that we could get on the road a little earlier....just FYI..."
".............................................."
"Yeah, that's what I said too."

CRAP AGAIN!  Beyond this point, I don't even KNOW what happened.  There was a lot of running, jumping over one another like it was a bloody obstacle course in 308, and also a lot of "Shoot! Where is (insert random item's noun here.)?"

AFTER running around looking like lunatics, Ryan and I finally have everything together.  Feeling bad about leaving such a mess all over the place, we book it for the car.  We have a great time getting things packed in, and then we're on our way, after a quick stop at Dunkin' Donuts that is.

We finally make it JUSTINTIME to see Avatar.  Which was amazing...again.  I had seen it 2 weeks prior to this trip with my mom.  It is FABULOUS!!!!  And after the movie, we started to book it for the hotel.  Ok, so getting to this hotel is like trying to get to Pettico Junction.  It's a whole 'nother dimension unto itself.  There's a random side street you have to take, and once you're over the bridge and through the woods, voila! DING DING DING! You win!  Seriously, if I was an FBI agent or something, that would be the hotel I would choose to stay at.  NOBODY knows its there.  Oh and guess what?  The indicator for the road you need to take to get there?  Yeah, its right in front of a Dunkin' Donuts.  I mean, obviously....where else would the road be?

Hahahaha!

So, this weekend sounds fun so far, right?  Yeah, well we're not done yet.

For supper we all decided that we would go to the Rainforest Cafe for supper...part of my birthday weekend and all.  After getting to the Burlington Mall, we walk up and talk to the hostess at the podium in front of the gift shop.
"Yeah, so there's going to be a two-and-a-half hour wait for the next table.  We'll call you when it's ready."  CRAP.

Mind you, by this time at night (around 6ish) we were all starving.  It had been a long ride, and we just wanted to eat something.  Two and a half hour wait was not sounding very good at this point in time.  So, we went to the food court and each got a slice of pizza to tide us over.  Meanwhile, Ryan is freaking out because of all the people in such a small space.  Of course, it could have just been partly because we'd had such a long ride, and partly because the height of the ceiling was only about 7.5 feet in the food court...but either way I can attest to it feeling a little crowded myself.  (And the whole me having dealt with a sore throat this entire day wasn't helping either.)

SO, after eating our snack, we walked the mall.  Mostly designer things that are pretty to look at, not so pretty to actually buy.  Seriously, who fits in a size -1?  Your intestines must be like the size of spaghetti or something...sheesh.   Eventually we found a Mac store and I was able to buy a cover for the iTouch my mom got me for Christmas. (I love that woman!)

iTouch protected, we leave and go find a place to sit for the next hour.  People watching is so much fun, especially when you're in a place with a lot more diversity, and around people of different ethnicities.  Vermont is sooooo white.  I grew up with white people everywhere.  Walking around and seeing Latinos, Blacks, Puerto Ricans, Asians, Vietnamese, EVERYTHING is such an eye-opener.  I love it when I get to be exposed to diversity.  Unfortunately, living in Vermont, it doesn't happen all that often.

FINALLY the time to eat supper arrives.  MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.  That's all I have to say on that matter.

Getting back to the hotel, Ryan is getting anxious because he wants to decorate the room while I am gone.  So, upon returning to the hotel, we find that the pool is open until 11.  THANK GOD!  I get changed and go down to start swimming, and the plan is that Ryan would join me shortly.  Hmm....mysterious.  Hahahaha.  After waiting for an entire HOUR, he finally comes down.  (Side note: We got back to the hotel at 9.  Meaning we had two hours to swim.  Meaning that now he had wasted an hour, WE only had 1 hour to swim TOGETHER.)  FML.  Hahaha.  So we did that, it was a pretty good time!  Bob and Mary came to chill (our invisible acquatic friends) and we played WTF DINO all over the pool.  It was certainly an excellent adventure.

After getting back to the room, there are pictures of me and me with random friends all over the place.  All together now...."AWWWWWWWW!!!!"   They were lined up in order from me as a child up until this year at 308. SOOO CUTE!!!!  Also attached to the walls were WTF Dino, and a WTF collage.  I LOVE IT!!!!  Hehehehehe.  Oh, and there was also a balloon party and random picture taking....which was some $hit.

After staying up until 2 am and watching P.S. I Love You, I decided that it was time for bed.  My sickness was draining me.  AHHHHH, NOOOO YOU BASTARDS!!!  Apparently by the time Ryan got back to bed from doing his nightly ritual, I was already snoring...which is weird because I remember him climbing back into bed...idk, maybe I was partially awake?  (A note on this: in honor and reverence to SCE and their trips all over the country, Ryan and I pushed the two beds together to make a huge bed.  It was AWESOME.)

......................................................................Silence................................................................................

8am the next morning, Ryan and I wake up.  I realize that I can't breathe.  Mucus is all up in my lungs, and I don't have a voice.  Awesome, I mean, I love when mucus is like, dripping from your vocal chords.  That's my fave.  Also, today is WATERPARK day...so this is going to work out fabulously.

After getting to Coco Keys Water Resort, things get AWESOME.  (Not in my snarky, sarcastic-al tone either...)  THERE'S WATER EVERYWHERE!!! AHHHHH!!!! From the 4 "big kid" water slides-2 of which require innertubes, 2 of which don't, the 2 pre-teen slides, and the 5 or 6 little kid ones, to the out-of-order wave pool (big surprise), to the lazy river thingy-mer-bob all in all it was a great time.  Ryan and I discovered the secrets of the water coming out of the ground in bursts, took some unexpected showers, and got dumped all over about 4 or 5 times from the huge bucket on top of everything.  :D  TOES FUN!

We were only able to amuse ourselves for about 2 hours.  There apparently was a river/innertube thing somewhere where you could float and watch a full-length movie while floating around, but we never found that.  I don't know if there was a whole 'nother section in there somewhere, but we had fun with what we were actually able to find.

After the water park, things get fuzzy.  I got some medication to start combating the mucus with Mucinex and Vicks Cough Syrup.  This works...kind of...  Hahaha. We get to have lunch at about 2:30-3 at a 99 somewhere on the way home, and then Ryan and I both pass out until we get to Franconia Notch.  His parents had called, so he woke up then I woke up shortly after.  Of course, we all also had to pee, so we found a random Irving station and took care of that situation.

After that, there isn't much to tell.  We got Ryan home, I went home.  We both slept forever.  The end.

That was my birthday weekend.  Nice, huh?  Overcoming random obstacles and constantly changing plans of action was fun.  Hahahahhahhahahaha!!!!

Ok, now that I've written a book I feel that I should go.  Enjoy.  Disney Safari is now over.  Please watch your step when exiting the vehicle.  Thank you, and have a WONDERFUL day!

Much Love!
-Megan

P.S. The title of this blog actually has to do with me getting in touch with Ryan's UVM library.  I have books out that are due back today, and I haven't had the motivation to do with them what I need to be doing so I can just return them and be done with it.....Yeah, I'm useless.

Lazy Saturday Afternoon

Flash Update:  308 had it's first legit slumber party last night.  Mattresses came off the bed, and went out into the living room onto the floor.  Best. Night. Ever.

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

There are no pictures, but trust me, it was a blast.  We were pretty much asleep by 12:30 am, and didn't wake up until 11ish.  Oh how I love my bed....even if it is on the floor in the living room.  So, I guess technically speaking, I should say that I love my mattress???

Anyway, thought I would give an update of my life!  I have a HUGE pile of homework to get through...like, the size of Mt. Everest.  It's NOT going to be fun.  But Ryan and I are thinking about eating supper with Ashley, and then taking a nap. THEN we'll get bac up to do homework and finish our day.  Velvet has to go to work at 6 until 10, and then she can come back and join our homework party.

Whooo hooo!!!

OH! AND MORE BIG NEWS!!!!

This time next week.....Ryan and I will be getting pampered up to go to the Rainforest Cafe in Burlington, MA for my BIRTHDAY DINNER!!!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

(Just a little pumped...just a little...)

Ok!  Well I am going to go back to the safe, fun world of FaceBook.  Love you all! Stay safe and keep warm!

Love,
Megan

Anticipation and Anxt

What a week.  Can it be Friday night at like, 5 pm right now?

Velvet, Ashley, Joe and I are all preparing for Ryan's birthday coming up on SATURDAY!!!!!!

Velvet and I have some secret plans to implement and carry out for Friday night, and Joe is going to be dragged into some of it, even though he isn't aware of this yet.  :)  Ashley will be included in the plans too, although she isn't aware of either of them yet.

Ryan and I have decided that we can't go more than 12 hours without seeing each other now.  We keep finding excuses to get together even for a random span of 45 mins between our classes.  It's bad-but somehow, I'm really ok with that. :P  I need me some Ryan!

As for everything else, my internship is clunking along.  Hopefully it'll get easier after the meeting with our consultants today.  AHHHHHHH.  I have so many impending projects and papers due this week.  I had forgotten about the majority of them, but they're all do-able, I think.

My iTunes is now officially the best compiled selection of music on my campus.  I LOVE my iTunes.  AHHHH!!!!!  Hahahaha.

Anywho...hope everyone else is survivng their semester!  I'm going to go work on hw and some internship items.

Love as always!

Lost

...is finished!  AHHHHHHHH!!!!  I finally accomplished the seemingly impossible today!!!  5 Seasons of Lost in like....1 month.  YAY!!  Yes, I am pretty fantastic.

Anywho, I hope vacation is going well the others of you out there that are in college.  I assume most/many of you are getting ready to travel back to your college town/city, so stay safe!!!

I'm going to go try to let the adrenaline run out of my system so I can get ready for bed (it's about 2 AM right now.)  Love writing in the early morning when there is little else to do!  Whoooooot!!!

Those of you in my Burly-World Crew, watch out.  I'm coming back!!

2 Hours/9 Mins

Ok, so I hav 9 minutes before my group meeting to tell you all what the 2 hours is all about.

Thats how much sleep I got last night.  Ryan and I stayed up till 5 AM talking about the world in general, our plans for next year's Thanksgiving (FLA anyone???), and fresh and old friendships.

We miss certain people in particular, but that is now the past.  We've decided that we're just going to be the most awesome friend/family system that anybody has ever seen.  Velvet is going to be our next door neighbor, Jess and Ashley will also live in the neighborhood.  And Luke and I can have our own bedroom in a house shared with Ryan and his adopted children.  YES! Hahaha.  (Yeah, I imagine most of the people mentioned would have some objections to this.)  Hey, I can dream, right?

Next Thanksgiving is going to be SO awesome.  Hilights include: travelling by ourselves, place to stay for free, tanning on the beach, travelling by ourselves, $500 gone forever, and travelling by ourselves!!!

Yeah, I'm kind of pumped.  Too bad I only have 12-13 more hours before I can sleep again.

Hmph, well I have to get downstairs.  Group members are going to start showing up. :)

Love you all,
Megan

This Weekend...was Awesome.

Where do I start in telling you about this weekend????  My goodness!  Well, first off, I took Ashley home with me for Friday night.  We ended up driving around St. J, Lyndonville, stopping @ P-chops for food & a Redbox movie, going to Cumby's for more food, and staying up till 3-3:30 am reading all the magazines that had come in the mail for me as well as trying to watch The Shortcut.

We had planned to go to the big St. J/LI Football Game (the 105th one mind you), and actually that didn't happen.  But LI won 14-0!!!!!  Kind of a little bit of domination there. :)

Then, after scrambling back to Burlington, we got ready for HALLOWEEN.  What a blast!  After Ryan and I put on all our makeup, we made a pretty kick-ass Sweeney Todd and Ms. Lovett.

Why is Ryan's hair SO not awesome?  :)  Love it!  We had fun trying to get Joe's hair to do the same thing essentially.  Good times. :)

So, after our failed attempt at Trick-or-Treating (no one wants to give candy to college students....what's with that?)  we dropped everything back off at the dorm.  We are people just like anyone else, are we not?  We deserve a night to get candy that we don't have to pay for seeing as how we're more broke than you most of the time.  Psh. Whatev.

Anywho, after that, we decided to go walk around Church St. & City Park to take pictures.

And then other than the drunk people asking "Where the F#@! is my F*$R&#g Pirate Cup?" and Ashley totally dominating one conversation with random people, it was pretty uneventful.

We ended up walking to Winooski, and decided to walk down under the bridge.

Yes, it was a good time.  After all this, we walked back to Ryan & Joe's dorm (after me sprinting for about 3 minutes straight because Joe somehow walked really fast and got really far ahead of us without realizing it,) we took a pee-break, and came back to my dorm for the night.

We ordered Wings, I stared and couldn't breathe after eating, then we went to bed

I LOVE my friends so much!  In conclusion, this weekend was AWESOME.  One of the best I've had I think!  It was my first spent with Ryan, my first spent "out on the town" with friends, not being followed around my family.  Pretty exciting stuff!

Lots of Love,
Megan

A Bloggable Moment

Hello, dear readers.

I just went through a Haunted House at Bankus Hall.  I think I peed my pants a little.  Uhm, so people walking around with the syringes, people screaming at you on the stairs, and our effing tour guide who "couldn't find the light."  Yeah, awesome.

Pretty much almost jumped on Ryan and dove under Jess' jacket.  Hahahahaha.
Haunted things and I do not get along.

Like our dorm.  Which is apparently haunted.  Everyone's computer has experienced technical difficulties since we've moved in.

Ahhhhhh. Zombies and poltergeists and ghosts n' shit!

Speaking of which, have I ever explained the whole "n'shit" business?
So, when Ryan first attended UVM Orientation, his Orientation Leader (OL) and him went to a party they were having for the first years.  Single Ladies came on, and she said, "Lookitchu DANCIN' n' shit!"
Henceforth, the "n'shit" has stuck, and is really catchy.  Hahaha.  It is a bad habit to get into, buuuuut whatcha gunna do...n'shit?

Enough with the swearing: anaaand onto: sleeping habits!
The past few nights I have not been able to sleep well at all.  Tossing and turning has become a regularity, and I can't tell if I'm sick or not because all the thermometers in Feeley are on the fritz.  Stupid poltergeist...

Well, I feel this is sufficient for my endeavors to date.

I'm going to get comfy, and try to maybe get some sleep!!!

Love you all!

Good Morning, Sunshines!

Ughhhh.  Soooo incredibly tired.  Today is my official homework day, and seeing as how Ashley and Velvet both have to work up at the library from 12-5 today, I'm going up with them to go get some help on something.  :)

It's going to be a great time.  Ryan would be going with us except he's off gallavanting through Burlington with a friend from home to go have lunch at Applebees (again?)  So, he'll probably join us later.

Right now it is 46 degrees outside and I don't want to get dressed.  But pj's will not suffice in this temperature...Awesome.

Ok my lovelies, I'm off to go get some homework done.

Love ya'll and ttyl!!!
xoxo
Love,
Megan
