I'm Drowwwwning....

....in homework.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.  There is SO MUCH to get done this weekend!

Mostly I'm stressing about this one project that is going to be due for one of my SWK classes.  It was supposed to be due on Friday, but we were able to get an extention until Wednesday.  Even with this extention, I'm not sure how this project is going to turn out.

I still cannot wait until my birthday!  Only 7 days left of my teenage years.  Argh.  Oh well, I'll always be a teenager at heart, I know it. :)

Ok, now that I've vented a bit, I'm going to get going and actually work on this project.

Love you all!

Lazy Saturday Afternoon

Flash Update:  308 had it's first legit slumber party last night.  Mattresses came off the bed, and went out into the living room onto the floor.  Best. Night. Ever.

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

There are no pictures, but trust me, it was a blast.  We were pretty much asleep by 12:30 am, and didn't wake up until 11ish.  Oh how I love my bed....even if it is on the floor in the living room.  So, I guess technically speaking, I should say that I love my mattress???

Anyway, thought I would give an update of my life!  I have a HUGE pile of homework to get through...like, the size of Mt. Everest.  It's NOT going to be fun.  But Ryan and I are thinking about eating supper with Ashley, and then taking a nap. THEN we'll get bac up to do homework and finish our day.  Velvet has to go to work at 6 until 10, and then she can come back and join our homework party.

Whooo hooo!!!

OH! AND MORE BIG NEWS!!!!

This time next week.....Ryan and I will be getting pampered up to go to the Rainforest Cafe in Burlington, MA for my BIRTHDAY DINNER!!!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

(Just a little pumped...just a little...)

Ok!  Well I am going to go back to the safe, fun world of FaceBook.  Love you all! Stay safe and keep warm!

Love,
Megan

Staying Up Till 4:30am=One of the Best Nights of My Life

4:30 am is a great time to have a conversation.  Why?

1) You're all exhausted.  The conversation is blunt and honest.

2) Everyone else is sleeping.  Prime time for privacy!

3) Esp. in the case of starting the conversation at 11 pm, that's 5.5 hours of discussion.  You can go all the way back from Day 1 of your life till where you think you'll be when you're 65.  Ample time to plan your life.

Next question.  Why is this relevant?

I went to bed at 4:30 am.  I had to get up at 8:30 for class.  I will be on campus until 6:30 tonight.  Ashley, Ryan and I ended up having an EPIC conversation about life in general, things that were bothering us, memories we had, things we've been through (both together and separately,) and where we want our lives to go (both professionally and personally.)

We feel bad that Velvet wasn't with us for this evening, but the conversation was really organic and it wasn't one that was really able to be put on hold for another night.  When things get rolling, things get rolling.

Surprisingly, I do not really feel all that exhausted.  These are the kinds of conversations (and excuses) I don't mind.  I feel like I did something productive and worthwhile with the time I lost sleeping, and I wouldn't go back and trade it for the world.

I once had a professor last semester that told us we should be up until 3 and 4 in the morning if we're going to have great conversations.  I tend to agree with him.  Good conversations are AWESOME.  They can totally change your perspective or mindset from pessimistic and unhappy to optimistic and ecstatic in about 15 minutes.  I LOVE engaging conversations.  I LOVE staying up for an extra two (or in this case, 5.5) hours just talking and catching up with life.  Rehashing old memories, things that had bothered you, things you're excited about, things you just want to share.

I am a firm believer in keeping a clean conscious.  If something is bothering you, find a way to vent it.  People can make themselves sick by holding feelings and thoughts in that really should be out in the open.  And it helps to get the "elephant out of the room" so that everyone can breathe.  I like breathing!  Don't you?  When I breathe I feel like I am alive, and completely connected with everything around me.

In case you were wondering, here are a few of the many topics that were covered last night:

Middle School issues (bullying, mean kids, sexual harrassment, drama, etc.)
High School
College-how things have changed
Growing up in general
Ryan and I living together at UVM his Sr. year if I can get into the grad. school program there
Housing situation between Ashley, Velvet, and I for next year
Things that had been bothering us in general
Professional Life-development
Personal Life-love, friendship, travels, keeping a well-balanced life

There were many more, but most of the things we talked about were in some way, shape, or form related to or mutated from one of those main core topics.

Back to the point: 4am conversations are good.  Staying up till 4 am because you're drunk or being stupid, not good.

Love,
Megan!

Why Do I Have Nothing To Do?

Ok, so my assignment book EVERY WEEK looks something like this:

Someone tell me that isn't crazy.  AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.  I'm so ready for a break.  This three-day weekend was good while it lasted, but I want more.  My birthday is coming up!!!! March is going to be amaaaayyyyzzzzziiiinnnnggggggg!!!!

My family is THE BEST...ever!  Ryan and I are taking a little road trip to Glenn's Falls to party up in the Great Escape Lodge.  There's a water park in there....it's awesome.

And this is only until lunch.

After lunch, we're driving to Burlington, MA to check into our hotel.  SO EXCITED!  There's going to be swimming, extra in-the-room activities, and chocolate-covered strawberries.  Ok, so after lunch, there will be (more) swimming.  When suppertime arrives, we're going to the RAINFOREST CAFE for supper.  OMG LAVA VOLCANO CAKE!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

After this FANTASTIC adventure, it's back to the hotel to chill for an hour or two to start on digestion of that amazing meal, [insert Ryan preparing the room in a special way for my b-day here,] and back to the pool/fitness center to work off some of the food.

After this, it's baby oil massage time.  Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.  Oh, IT'S ZEN TIME, WHAT?!  Yeah, basically.  We're making a fort in the room, there's going to just be b-day stuff ALL over the place, and a very happy Megan.

After staying up all night (or more than likely passing out from exhaustion from all the swimming at about 10:30 pm,) Day 2 arrives.  Spending the morning in the pool (big surprise,) BREAKFAST, and then going to see a movie of my choice.  Hmmmmm...yeah, I'm toes pumped for this.

3 more weeks until this glorious phenomenon occurs.

Until then....

adieu!

Love,
Megan

Anticipation and Anxt

What a week.  Can it be Friday night at like, 5 pm right now?

Velvet, Ashley, Joe and I are all preparing for Ryan's birthday coming up on SATURDAY!!!!!!

Velvet and I have some secret plans to implement and carry out for Friday night, and Joe is going to be dragged into some of it, even though he isn't aware of this yet.  :)  Ashley will be included in the plans too, although she isn't aware of either of them yet.

Ryan and I have decided that we can't go more than 12 hours without seeing each other now.  We keep finding excuses to get together even for a random span of 45 mins between our classes.  It's bad-but somehow, I'm really ok with that. :P  I need me some Ryan!

As for everything else, my internship is clunking along.  Hopefully it'll get easier after the meeting with our consultants today.  AHHHHHHH.  I have so many impending projects and papers due this week.  I had forgotten about the majority of them, but they're all do-able, I think.

My iTunes is now officially the best compiled selection of music on my campus.  I LOVE my iTunes.  AHHHH!!!!!  Hahahaha.

Anywho...hope everyone else is survivng their semester!  I'm going to go work on hw and some internship items.

Love as always!

Snowball/Jeanne Mance/Successes/Failures

Well, hello everyone!

I've been a slacker lately.  I'm so caught up in my day to day life that things have started to slide on the blogosphere side of my life.

SO, to catch up, let's start with snowball:

These are snapshots of the evening.  Hahaha.  Amid all the completely inebriated people in the center of the dance floor, the rest of us had a GREAT time with the chocolate fountain (FONDUE!!!!)  and some of the music.  Top Hat Entertainment could have probably done a little bit of a better job, but we were able to do the Hand Jive, so then it was all good. :)

Now, let's talk about Jeanne Mance!  AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! I received the BEST massage in the past 8 years from Ryan.  It felt so goooood.  We made a special trip to Rite Aid to get baby oil, and a water fountain.  Mmmmmm hmmm.....it was awesome.   We made a Zen Tent, and a new phrase: "It's ZEN TIME, WHAT?"  Yes, things are strange.

Later in the evening, we decided to get Wings for supper.  After calling and waiting for 45 mins, Wings calls Ryan's cell phone.  Joe BOOKS it down the stairs.  When Ryan and I arrive, there are like 4-5 guys lined up against the wall with police officers reading them their rights.  We don't know what happened, but it had to do with alcohol and being on campus.  To see the supposed dialogue, check out Ryan's blog: http://ryhowland.blogspot.com/

Ryan and I just completed a V-Day mailing package to go out to everybody.  It was pretty epic!  Hahahaha.  We've got letters going to L-ville, Barre, and Florida.  Toes!!!!  Let's just blanket our country with 308 Luv!

As far as successes and failures, I'm surviving school.  I don't particularly enjoy a few of my classes this semester, but I'm plugging through them.  I just wish the next three months would hurry up and be done because I'm basically ready to go home and spend time with my family and Ryan.  Granted, I wish I could also go visit Velvet and Ashley at their respective homes in NY and Mass, but it is what it is.

As far as plans for next year, Ryan and I are still planning to hop a plane to Florida over Thanksgiving break.  Mmmmm hmmm....pictures to come!  Hahahahha.  Cannot wait.  Taking a plane (or two!) by ourselves is going to be pretty amazing, and I feel like I'll feel MUCH more like an adult when that is able to happen.  Can't wait!

I believe that's about it as of right now.  I'm (immensely) enjoying being a single woman, and I plan to enjoy it until I feel I'm ready to try dating again.  I love being able to go out with my friends and not feel guilty about not being ONLINE for 7hrs every night talking about the same things day after day.  I really do feel free, and I'm going to enjoy that freedom to it's fullest extent.

Much Love!  IT'S ZEN TIME, WHAT?!

Love, Megan
