I am a Blob

The extent of my break has been me sitting on my bed catching up with all this stuff that I normally wouldn't get the chance to watch because almost all of my life from about 8am-1am is taken by Champlain College.  Classes, work, homework, 2nd job, more homework, and oh yeah, I have an internship to throw in the blender for next semester as well.  Yippee!  So while I can, I am watching everything I can get my hands on.  I've watched season 1 of Hereos (amaaaaazing show!), season 1 of House (I like him!), and a BUNCH of movies I stole (read: borrowed) from my roommate, Ashley.

Well, good news.  I've finished everything I stole from her, and now I'm just trying to catch up on LOST before the new season begins Feb. 2nd.  Only 1 small problem though with the new season coming out.  :( It's on a Tuesday night.  Unfortunately, that is the same night that Ryan and I will be in Music Makers... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

So I guess what's going to have to happen is that we'll just have to wake up early Wednesday morning to watch what happened the night before.  Which is going to be kind of awful.  Haha.   Oh well...

Oh, and another thing I have to do:  Watch the show Charmed from start to finish.  My fantastic friends Velvet and Ryan decided to help me finish off my collection by buying me 2 seasons a piece for my x-Mas present.  Awwwww.  You guys are so sweet!
I'm at a loss as what to give Velvet for her present though.  See, I did give her a present, but then she basically blew up at me and wanted the receipt to go return it STAT.  Sooooooo......glad I tried. -_-  Idk, I'm out of money so she'll have to either just deal with what she got or wait till I win the lottory so I can have some spending money.  No worries, I still love her--I'll just have to think of something else.

So, now everyone knows why I am a blob.  Hey, at least I am keeping my mind sharp.  (If I wasn't watching movies like I was on a nightly 9pm-3am vigil, there wouldn't honestly be anything else to do, anyway.)  Lyndonville's "stuff to do" resources are highly limited.

You see, the closest movie theatre is 15 mins drive away.  The closest Wal*Mart is 45 mins drive away.  The closest "mall" (consisting of: Job Lots, JC Penny's, Maurices, Hallmark, Optical Expressions, Olympia Sports, Payless, Fashion Bug, and Sears) is a 10 min drive away.  We don't have any roller-rink places.  We don't really have a club....unless you count "the Packer."  (I tend to not count it, but that's just because I haven't actually been there yet....hopefully that'll change...Toria and I want to try to go next Wednesday.

Oh, Toria!  I don't think I've introduced her to you all on here yet.  Toria is my first black friend!  Hahahaha.  :)  Our friendship started back in 8th grade.  She moved from the capital city in VT to my little, tiny school.  We became friends, and have stayed that way ever since.  She's halarious. <3

Okie doke, that about sums things up I think.  I'll leave a few personalized endings to all my peeps on here:

Jess- I'm glad you were ok in your car accident!  How about the car, the other people, the other car?  I know you were still shaken up about it so I'm just curious how everything is going now.  :-S Keep me posted!

Ashley- I miss you!  I love your eyeliner/talent post!  Hope the Cape is treating you well!!!!

Velvet- Come back to me!!!!!  Have you gotten a new phone yet??? Can I get yo numba, can I have it, can I git it?  Can I git yo numba, can I have it, can I get the 7 digits plus area code that comprise your numba.... Hahahhaha. :P  Don't worry, I'm still trying to find some other gift that can be as personalized as the other one was, but hopefully you won't throw it back in my face this time.

Ryan-  Go to Macy's, go to the customer service counter.  There will be two $500 gift cards waiting for you.  BUY SOME CLOTHES.  Hahahaha!  I miss you, hun!  Hope work @ the grill is going swimmingly for you!  I'm doing some household errands today to get my room spiffied up.   We'll see how well that all works out.  :)  Luv u!

Luke- Hey babe!  Just wanted to let you know I'm still alive and that I'm pretty sure tonight is my last night of work till Monday.  Speaking of which, I have really weird hours next week.  Our store is open till 9pm, so generally if you're a Part Time person you work the 4-9 shift.  Well, I'm working 2-7's next week.....I don't get it.  Oh well.  Love you, babe!

And that's a wrap!

I'm Still Alive! I Promise!

Hello, Hello everyone!

I hope you all have had the best Christmas ever.  Mine was awesome.  And I love my family.  I don't appreciate the fingerprints...but we'll get to that in a bit.

So, where have I been?  Basically for the past two days, I completely disconnected myself from the internet. (GASP!)  I know, I didn't think it was possible, either!!!!  Because I stole (read: borrowed) a TON of dvd's from my roommie (read: Ashley) over break, I've been spending my break on my bed completely self-absorbed in movies and seasons of various shows.  And I've watched everything...except the last 5 episodes of Season 1 of Hereos.  Ok, that show is SOME shit!  Hahahhaa.  Hayden (she plays Claire, the spontaneous regeneratory cheerleader) is awesome.  Niki/Jessica is crazy, and everybody is else is like NYGAAHHAHHFHAHHAAH!!!  Yeah, toes!

Besides wasting my brain cells by watching a crap-load of videos, I've been working hard on Ryan's present.  The real one.  The one that he's probably going to keep for years and put on display over his fireplace mantle when he gets his own house.  Yeah, it's going to be that good.  One little problem, I'm turning my room inside and out in search of something.  This something I want to add to his present, but I can't find it!! AHHHH!!!! Granted its a few years old, and with my computer crashing a couple of times a year hasn't really helped the cause.  I don't know if it's in existance anymore or not.  :(  I know I saw it about 6-7 months ago and I knew I was going to keep it because it was something I wanted to give back to him, but now I don't know where I've stuck it.  *Sigh*  FML  However, if I can find that thing perhaps I can continue with what I wanted to do.

For those of you who think I am ignoring you or mad at you: I am not!  (See the paragraph above this past one.)  When I watch stuff, I like to be focused on it otherwise I'll miss what's happening and be really very lost.  So, disconnecting myself from the internet is a great way to zero in on what I should be focusing on for a while. :)

Raise your hand: who here has heard of an ipod touch?  Ok....who here has ever touched an ipod touch?  If you're a part of my 308 gang, you will get that chance soon enough.  My mom is fantabulous and got me an 8gig ipod touch for Christmas to replace my 3 gig nano that still cringes everytime it sees my itunes collection.  Hahahahaha.  My Christmas was excellent, and I hope that you're Chanukkah, Kwanza, and/or X-Mas was just as fantastic!

New Years is around the bend, and to commemorate, I'll post a few pictures of the past, those I am thankful for, and those I can't wait to spend more of my life with!!!!

I Know What You're Thinking

WHERE has she been?  WTF, I want another post!

Well, ladies and gents.  I have been busy.  I have almost successfully navigated my way through the Fall 2009 semester.  One more exam in about 45 mins and then it'll hopefully be just about done and over with...

GIFT EXCHANGE is tonight!  I'm still working on the most EXCELLENT Christmas present for Ryan.  It won't be done in time for tonight, but apparently we've both created gifts for one another that is going to make both of us sob uncontrollably.  Can't wait!   Oh!  Spyro is almost done!!!!  Hahahaha.  We haven't totally "beat" the game yet, because we have to go back through all the other levels and collect ALL the gems in order to get into the final level.   But we're definitely working on it.

Speaking of gifts, I can't wait for Velvet to open hers.  It's mostly a gag gift, but it is also something she will hopefully find useful, and that will make her laugh, giggle, or at least smile once every morning. :)

Finals are overall going extremely well so far.  Is it bad to phrase this line like this: "I wonder how many A's I have?"  Hahaha.  I feel like I did really well this semester in despite of all the crap that happened.

Ugh.  But, I've almost made it.

Ryan, Joe, Ashley, Velvet, (maybe Jess?), and I are going to have our last fantastic night in 308 maple tonight.  Send us your best!

xoxo
Love,
Megan
P.S.  My ex-supervisor is AWESOME.  This is a shoutout to Meg, who offered to let Ryan and I borrow her vehicle for transporting college kid stuff from Jeanne Mance to 308.  Meg Ryan (our combined stage name) thanks you!!!!!

Ow

Today I did something pretty epic.  I made a radiator resonate....for 30 seconds....with my face.  Actually, my head, and it hurts.  But that's ok.  Awesome times.

LOST.  Working my way one episode at a time through season 1...then on to season 2!!! BINGO!

SPYRO-I have almost beat the game with my partner in crime....Ryan.  We're toes awesome at this game together.  No lie. :)

LI-I feel so bad for Kylie (old friend/SCE survivor.)  The new SCE teacher is apparently extremely inadequate and most of the members are dropping out/have dropped out since she's started.  :(((((( NOT FAIR.

XMAS-XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX That is all I have to say on the matter.  :)

Love-! <3333333333333333

Wow

So,
I had my Winter Music Makers Concert last night.  It was awesome.  The wearing of Tap Shoes, busing through phlegm to spit out a duet/solo, seeing my mom & gram & Ryan's parents.....it was all so epic. :)

I haven't showered today.  Not because I didn't want to...but because it's stormy outside.  I keep hoping that by some miracle class will be cancelled and I won't have to go and take this quiz.  Every other school in the Northeast basically has today off as a snow day.  But nope, not Champlain.  Because all/most of the professors live so close, they are always able to get here, and so we always have class.

NOOOOOOOOO.  Why? :'(

Granted after today I only have 2 more days of class (Friday and Monday [I have no classes on Thursday]), but still.  Can't I just be done with this?  PLEASE???  Do I really have to do 20 pages of work before Monday....6-12 of them due by Friday, 8 of them due by Monday?

Really?

..............Well FINE...

My Own Personal Episode of Crime Stoppers

Who likes to make their own ice cream?  I do! I do!

Last night and tonight as well I have been sleeping in Ryan's dorm.  He got the cold that I had earlier (and am still working on getting over), so I'm sleeping over to help re-coop with him.

What is the connection between ice cream and Crime Stopping?  Well, let me fill you in.  Tonight was a Make-Your-Own-Ice-Cream thingy at Champlain--so I took Ryan.  It was a blast!  An awful movie, your fingers burning off from the cold ice and the rock salt...awesome!  Truly an AWESOME adventure.

So, on our way back and in between tree-hugging every tree between my campus and Ryan's dorm, we come across this truck.

"Look, that truck has its window rolled down! What the hell?" I said to Ryan.

"Oh, look.  That truck actually HAS no window!  And the console is up...everything is gone..." I added.

Yes, we had come across a black mazda pickup that had the driver's side window punched in, and all their cd's and whatnot stored in the conole were gone.  I feel SO bad for the owner of that truck!  I hope that they didn't have anythig too valuable in there.

Anyway, Ryan called his campus security.  They transfered him to BPD.  (Burlington Police Dept.)  After giving name, birthdate, and home address, we waited for the officer to show up.  After both Ryan and I had been interviewed for this information in person by the Lady Officer, we were free to go.  I hope that the owner of the truck is able to be contacted.  That SUCKS.

Well, I have just finished an Antoine Lavoisier paper, and I am drained.  I'm off to go relax and play some Bejeweled Blitz on Facebook. :)

Enjoy your evening!  If you are sick at home, you should visit Ryan's blog here:

Get some hot cocoa!  Makes you feel better!

Lots of Love as Always...

Your Internship Awaits, M'Dear

GUESS WHAT?!?!?!!?!??!?!!?!?!?

Enough with the gloom and doom!  I, Megan, have successfully secured myself an internship for the Spring 2010 semester!!!! YAAAAAAYYYY!!!! And it's on campus!!!! BIGGER YAYYYYY!!!!!

I am so excited to do this.  :)  I don't remember if I have explained it in my previous blog, and for fear of sounding repetitious I will refrain from going over it...(again?)  Eh, I'll double check.  If I have not described it well I will do so in the future.

I am so relieved to just relax, chill out, and go with the flow from here on out.  Gleastwick night was fantastic last night--big turning-point episodes!!!

Right now I'm just foucsing on finishing up 2 group projects, both due this coming Tuesday.  Yeah, not fun.  So much to sift through! ARGH!!!

Regardless, thanks to all of you who wished me luck.  It worked.  :)

Everyone stay strong.  Don't get sick (like I did.)  Drink lots of tea, decaf coffee, or whatever your preference of a hot beverage.  It helps with digestion and keeping sickness at bay! :)  Sore throats and stuffy noses suck!

Hanging in there as always,
Megan

Gleastwick!

My new favorite term for Glee/Eastwick nights.  Only two more Glee nights, and Eastwick is going to be cancelled after this season finishes.  WHAT THE HELL????

...And Glee won't be back till April according to Ryan (http://www.ryhowland.blogspot.com/).  :(  NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. WHAT AM I GOING TO DO WITH MY WEDNESDAY NIGHTS?

Anywho...big news....I'm hoping by 10 am tomorrow I will have an internship confirmed.  WISH ME TONS OF LUCK!!  I really want this particular job.  King St. has so far gotten back to me, and that is my close second choice.  But I'm hoping the Social Norms Campaign works out for me. :)

Keep me in your thoughts until about 1pm tomorrow.  After then, life will be good.

There is a Light at the End of the Tunnel

Sooooo much has happened since Thanksgiving break.

To sum it up in a word: STRESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.  I'm freaking out over this non-existant internship that I must have confirmed by Friday, and I also had some more personal issues going on as well.

THANKFULLY the personal issues have now been solved and everyone I think is good standing once again.  The internship issue however is...well...a work in progress.

I've applied to King St. Youth Center.  I would love to get in there.  Also, I have applied to the HowardCenter.  Hopefully someone gets back to me today!  Then: all a sudden...IT HAPPENED!  I remembered an e-mail one of my professors had sent me over break.  There's a Social Norms campaign starting up that is going to be in full swing by next fall.  And there's a possibility to turn it into an internship!!!!! AHHH!!! That means I wouldn't have to leave campus!!! And slip and fall and break something!  (Which I'm probably more prone to doing than most people realize.)  Hahaha.

Keep you fingers crossed for me.  Life is starting to get good again.

:)

Much Love
Megan
